Welcome back to live in-person theatre. Here are a few things to know prior to visiting San Diego REP.
San Diego REP and the Lyceum Theatres are committed to the health and safety of artists, staff, volunteers and you, our audiences. As local, state, and federal recommendations evolve, we are closely monitoring and following appropriate recommendations from health authorities. We are proactively adjusting policy and implementing new measures in response to the latest information.
Updated health and safety policy, as at April 21 2022:
We have updated our policy in alignment with the State of California, which has removed mask and vaccine requirements for indoor events. Effective April 21 2022, the REP will not require patrons to provide proof of vaccination or to wear masks while attending shows or events in either our indoor or outdoor venues.
However, we strongly recommend mask-wearing while attending events, and patrons are always welcome to wear a mask if you choose. We encourage all audience members to take precautions recommended by health authorities to protect themselves and others in public spaces.
What to do if you feel sick
If you are feeling sick or exhibiting any COVID-19-like symptoms, or if you have been exposed to COVID-19 within five days of attending your performance, we ask you to stay home and contact our Box Office to exchange your tickets - 619.544.1000 or boxoffice@sdrep.org.
Concessions
Beverages and light snacks are available to purchase in the lobby. Beverages will once again be allowed in our theaters.
This policy is subject to change if new public health guidance is received from federal, state or local authorities.
Additional measures
Mobile tickets - We have moved to touchless ticketing. Tickets will be emailed prior to each ticketed performance and will be available on your smartphone.
Cleaning - Hand sanitizer stations, comprehensive daily disinfection protocols and increased cleaning of high-touch surfaces have also been implemented.
Touchless programs - From May 2022, we are moving to digital programs for San Diego REP productions, accessible by QR code and pre-show emails.
Ensure you have the latest information
Health and safety plans will change to adapt to new guidelines. We encourage you to visit our website for the latest information and check the pre-show communications that are emailed to ticket-holders.
If you have purchased tickets for other people, please ensure you share important information with your theater companions. If you are a companion attendee or attending with a group, please ask the ticket-purchaser for information, visit our website for the latest information, or contact our Box Office on 619.544.1000.
Please be advised that it is the responsibility of the ticket purchaser to communicate these policies to whomever they may be providing tickets. Performance ticket holders who do not comply with house policies may be required to leave the theatre.
We look forward to welcoming you to the REP. With your cooperation, together we can stay safe.
There may be a free insight event pre or post show. We offer a series of free REP Xtra events alongside each play. Meet the cast, hear about the creative process, dig deeper into the themes explored and get to know like-minded people in the REP community. Find out more about upcoming REP Xtra Events here.
If there is a content advisory, it will be available on the show page of our website and in the pre-show email we send to ticket-holders ahead of your performance. We understand that sensitivities vary from person to person. We want to provide the information audiences need while not ‘spoiling’ the action. If you have any questions about content, age-appropriateness or stage effects like strobe lighting or theatrical fog, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to give you more info. We encourage you contact Box Office at boxoffice@sdrep.org or 619.544.1000 with any questions, and to ensure you are opted in to receive pre-show communications. When at the theatre, speak to our Front-Of-House team.
