Play At Home: Untitled Puppet Show, or On the Other Side of Anchovy Avenue

Showing: April 26 - May 10, 2021
Where:

The Play at Home project began in March 2020 when the global pandemic shut down live theatre. With a spirit of resilience, adaptation, and invitation, theatres came together to create the Play At Home project, a series of short plays commissioned specifically for this moment of unprecedented isolation to inspire joy and connection for all.

San Diego REP is celebrating the resilience of theatre with this opportunity to play at home with the Amigos del REP.

Summary: In Untitled Puppet Show, a child disappears into their favorite TV show, Anchovy Avenue but is transformed into a puppet named Numba 4, only to realize the show is ending either way. As the set is taken down and the lights turned out, Numba 4 finds themselves in a bin with other discarded puppets. The leftover puppets soon learn that on the other side of "Anchovy Avenue" a whole new life awaits them.
